Houston, TX (November 26, 2024) – A collision at the intersection of Briar Forest Drive and State Highway 6 claimed two lives and left two others injured late Sunday night, November 24, according to Houston police.
The incident unfolded around 11:40 p.m. when the driver of a Crown Victoria, traveling westbound on Briar Forest, mistakenly turned into the northbound lanes while attempting to make a right turn. The vehicle ended up heading southbound against the traffic flow. Authorities report that as the driver attempted to correct the error, a southbound Mercedes collided with the Crown Victoria.
The driver of the Crown Victoria and a passenger seated in the back of the Mercedes were pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional occupants from the Mercedes were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries. Shortly after the initial collision, a gold Toyota, also traveling in the wrong direction in the northbound lanes, struck the already-damaged Mercedes, further complicating the crash and contributing to additional injuries. Police are actively investigating both crashes to determine the sequence of events and contributing factors.
We hope those harmed recover quickly.
We offer our sympathies to the families of the victims killed in this crash.
