Houston, TX (January 30, 2025) – A construction worker was hospitalized after a scaffolding collapse in Downtown Houston on January 29.
The Houston Fire Department responded to the incident at approximately 12:19 p.m. at Main Street and Rusk Street. Reports indicate workers were on the scaffolding when concrete fell from a building window onto a construction elevator. A worker inside the elevator managed to exit safely before being transported to a hospital. Officials confirmed that he was in stable condition.
Emergency crews initially feared that people could be trapped under the debris. However, a thorough search determined that everyone at the site was accounted for. Cleanup efforts are underway, and an investigation by OSHA is expected.
We hope the injured worker makes a full and swift recovery.
