At approximately 3:27 p.m., authorities received a 911 call regarding a traffic crash at the busy intersection. Officers arrived to find that at least one vehicle had sustained significant damage. EMS personnel assessed the injured parties and transported at least one person to a nearby hospital for treatment. Houston police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.

Car Accidents in Texas

Motor vehicle accidents are a frequent occurrence on Texas roads. In one recent year, the Texas Department of Transportation reported over 15,000 serious injury crashes statewide. The high volume of traffic in metropolitan areas like Houston contributes to a greater risk of collisions. Every accident is different, but many involve speeding, distracted driving, or failure to yield.

When accidents happen, they often result in serious injuries and significant financial burdens. Here are some common types of injuries people experience after a crash:

  • Head and Brain Injuries – Concussions and traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) can have long-term consequences, including memory loss and cognitive issues. Even mild TBIs require medical attention.
  • Spinal Cord Damage – Back and neck injuries may lead to chronic pain or, in severe cases, paralysis. These injuries can impact a victim’s ability to work and live independently.
  • Broken Bones – Fractures are common in high-impact collisions. Recovery can take weeks or months, and some victims require surgery or physical therapy.
  • Soft Tissue Damage – Whiplash and muscle strains can cause pain and limited mobility, affecting daily activities and overall quality of life.
  • Internal Injuries – Blunt-force trauma can result in internal bleeding or organ damage, which may not be immediately apparent but can be life-threatening if untreated.

After a crash, victims often deal with medical bills, lost wages, and other unexpected expenses. Insurance companies may attempt to offer quick settlements that do not fully cover the costs of recovery. A skilled attorney can help protect your rights and ensure you receive fair compensation for your injuries and damages. It is crucial to act quickly, as evidence from the crash scene can disappear, and witnesses’ memories fade over time. Speaking with a lawyer as soon as possible can improve your chances of securing the compensation you deserve.
