Houston, TX (August 8, 2024) – A fatal accident reported on Wednesday claimed one person’s life in the Houston area. Authorities were called to the scene on August 7.
Preliminary reports indicate that Joseph Jebbia was traveling in the Houston area when the police attempted to apprehend him. A police pursuit ensued on Interstate 45 northbound. As the vehicle proceeded forward at a high rate of speed, it ran a red light and struck a second vehicle near West Road. The car then proceeded forward and struck a pedestrian who was waiting at a bus stop. The pedestrian was fatally injured in the accident and immediately pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as a woman in her 50s. Jebbia proceeded forward until he was stopped by the police near Millwood and Highway 249. He is currently facing an array of charges. The Houston Police Department is currently investigating the crash.
