San Patricio Co., TX (July 6, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported just south of Mathis on Thursday evening left multiple people injured. The San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene at around 11:00 p.m. on July 4.
According to official reports, an 18-wheeler was traveling on Texas State Highway 188 during the evening hours. As the vehicle went over the overpass, it crashed and landed on Interstate 37. As a result, three other vehicles collided with the truck. Emergency crews immediately shut down the roadway to prevent further damage or injuries. Two people involved in the accident were injured. Both victims were taken to an area hospital for emergency care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
