High-Speed Collisions in Texas

In terms of fatalities from speeding, Texas leads the country. In fact, the cause of around one-third of all traffic fatalities in Texas is speeding. Texas experiences up to 25,000 speed-related collisions every year. Statistics show that greater fluctuations in velocity at higher speeds translate into more serious injuries. People nearly always have an explanation for their excessive speed when they are caught, but nevertheless, it is still a dangerous habit. Though they may be able to defend their actions to themselves, speeding is never acceptable in the eyes of the law. The Texas Department of Transportation reports that in 2020, there were over 27,000 speed-related crashes in the state of Texas, with over 900 fatalities and 2,100 serious injuries.
