Red Light Collisions in Texas
Red-light runners contribute to many serious car accidents reported annually in the United States. A total of 1,109 people were killed in these crashes nationwide in 2021 alone. Statistics show that nearly half of those who died were pedestrians, cyclists, or people in other vehicles who were hit by the red-light runner. More than 127,000 people were hurt in red-light accidents that year. Intersections can be dangerous places on the road, and when drivers fail to follow traffic signals, serious collisions can occur.
