Corpus Christi, TX (March 3, 2024) – Early on Sunday morning, March 3, a driver was killed and a passenger hurt following a two-vehicle hit-and-run accident in the Corpus Christi area. The deadly crash was reported at the 2900 block of Padre Island Drive early that morning at around 1:30 a.m. When emergency responders arrived, they found a vehicle that had crashed into a nearby building.
The 27-year-old female driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The 23-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment of sustained injuries. Local reports indicated that a dark-colored vehicle hit the car. The impact caused the vehicle to leave the road and hit the building.
The other driver reportedly fled the scene without rendering aid. Local reports indicated that a vehicle fitting the description with serious front damage was found in a local parking lot.
