Fuel Leak, Fire Risk Leads to Recall of 2018 Toyota Camry

Toyota is recalling nearly 12,000 model year 2018 Toyota Camrys equipped with V-6 engines because of a risk of fuel leaks that could lead to fires. Toyota said affected vehicles have fuel delivery pipes that may not be properly connected to the fuel hoses in the engine compartment. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel pipes for the correct installation, making any repairs free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 30, 2018. To see if your Camry is affected, go to www.safercars.gov and enter the vehicle’s VIN number. Owners may call Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371. Toyota’s ID for this recall is J0G.
