Polaris Phoenix 200 ATV Throttle Limiter Damage Is Causing Crashes
Stop Riding Phoenix 200 ATVs and Check for Crash Risk
Polaris has issued an urgent recall of 5,600 Phoenix 200 all-terrain vehicles because of reports that shipping-related damage to throttle limiters is causing crashes. Polaris said it has received nine damage reports, including one failure that caused a crash with injuries. The company said owners should stop using the recalled ATVs and contact Polaris for instructions on how to inspect the throttle limiter for damage. Damaged throttle limiters will be replaced free of charge.
Affected ATVs are all model year 2014-2017 and were sold in blue and gray. To determine if you have one of these ATVs look for “Polaris” stamped on the front grill and on the sides of the seats, and “Phoenix 200″ stamped on the side panels. Model numbers A14PB20AF, A15YAP20AF, A16YAP20AF, and A17YAP20A8 are included in this recall. The model number is located on the vehicle frame.
