Car Accidents in Texas

Houston, TX – Collision Leaves Victims Injured on Mississippi StMotor vehicle accidents in Texas are a daily occurrence, with thousands of crashes reported each year. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, more than 15,000 people suffer serious injuries in traffic accidents annually. Houston, in particular, sees a high volume of crashes due to its busy roadways.

Understanding the risks on Texas roads is important for all drivers. Below are some of the most common injuries people sustain in car accidents:

  • Whiplash and Neck Injuries – Sudden impact can cause the head to snap forward and back, straining muscles and ligaments. These injuries can take weeks or months to heal.
  • Broken Bones – The force of a crash often results in fractures, particularly in the arms, legs, and ribs. Severe breaks may require surgery and rehabilitation.
  • Head Trauma – Concussions and traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) can have lasting effects on memory, coordination, and cognitive function. Even mild head injuries should be evaluated by a doctor.
  • Spinal Cord Injuries – Damage to the spine can lead to paralysis or long-term nerve issues. Victims with severe spinal injuries often require extensive medical care.
  • Lacerations and Burns – Broken glass, deployed airbags, and vehicle fires can cause deep cuts and burns, sometimes leading to scarring and infections.
