Houston, TX (January 7, 2025) – A pedestrian lost their life Saturday night, January 4, after being struck by a vehicle on the southbound lanes of the North Freeway near Cavalcade Street in North Houston.
Houston Police Department officers reported that the fatal crash occurred at approximately 8:34 p.m. Authorities said the individual was attempting to cross the freeway from east to west, starting at the HOV lane, when they were hit by a vehicle traveling southbound.
Emergency personnel with the Houston Fire Department responded to the scene and sadly pronounced the individual deceased on-site. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. An investigation into the incident remains ongoing to determine the contributing factors that led to this tragedy.
