San Antonio, TX (December 21, 2024) – A young teacher was killed, and five children were injured Thursday afternoon, December 19, in a vehicle crash outside the Excelled Montessori Plus School.
At approximately 4:15 p.m., a parent leaving the school accidentally accelerated their car, causing it to collide with another vehicle, officials reported. The force of the impact sent both cars crashing through a fence, where 22-year-old teacher Alexia Rosales and students were present.
Rosales was trapped beneath one of the vehicles. Emergency crews utilized hydraulic lifts to rescue her but sadly pronounced her deceased at the scene. Five children suffered injuries in the incident and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. No updates on their conditions have been provided.
Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the crash, including potential mechanical issues.
