Alice, TX (November 16, 2024) - An elderly woman in her 80s tragically passed away Wednesday evening, November 13, following an auto-pedestrian accident near the 500 block of North Johnson Street.

Alice police responded to the scene at approximately 6:20 p.m. According to Alice Police Chief Eden Garcia, the woman was attempting to cross the road when she was struck by a small SUV. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and has been cooperative with authorities. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and no citations have been issued to the driver at this time.
