Victoria, TX (October 27, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident reported in Victoria on Friday morning claimed one woman’s life. The accident occurred at around 650 a.m. on October 25.
Police reports indicate that a male was driving a vehicle south on US Highway 77. The man was traveling with two passengers, identified as a woman and a child. For unknown reasons, the vehicle stalled on the side of the roadway near Tate Road. The man exited the vehicle. The pickup truck was then struck by a pickup truck, which was being driven by an off-duty Victoria County Sheriff’s Deputy. The woman in the vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was immediately pronounced deceased at the scene. The deputy was rushed to an area hospital for emergency care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
