Corpus Christi, TX – Fatal Crash on Hwy 359 Takes One Life

Corpus Christi, TX (October 25, 2024) - A fatal accident reported on Wednesday morning, October 23, claimed one person’s life. The accident took place at around 11:00 a.m.

Official reports indicate that 36-year-old Francisco Castilla was driving southbound on Highway 359 in a Chevrolet Silverado with his 17-year-old passenger. As the vehicle proceeded forward, a 19-year-old, identified as Andrew Hinojosa, failed to remain in the northbound lane of the road. As a result, his red Ford F-250 pickup truck entered the southbound lane and collided with the Chevrolet. Castilla was severely hurt in the accident. He was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. His passenger and Hinojosa were both injured and transported to Christus Spohn Hospital in Alice and Christus Spohn Shoreline. The accident is under investigation.
