Corpus Christi, TX (October 8, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident reported in the Corpus Christi area early Saturday morning, October 5, sent one person to a local hospital with injuries.
At around 6:30 a.m., a 58-year-old was riding a moped in the area near Holly Road in Flynn Parkway. For unknown reasons, they were struck by a black SUV. The driver of the SUV continued forward, dragging the vehicle under it. The person on the moped was injured in the crash and rushed to an area hospital for emergency care. Authorities determined that the driver of the SUV, 42-year-old Corri Ortiz, was under the influence. The driver was taken into custody for intoxication assault with a vehicle.
