Houston, TX – Man Loses Life in Car Crash on Lockwood Dr at Market St

Houston, TX (September 24, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident claimed the life of an 18-year-old man on Lockwood Drive in Houston, as reported by the Houston Police Department.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 9:55 p.m. on September 21 at the intersection of Lockwood Drive and Market Street. According to Sergeant J. Richards from the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, the young man was driving a purple Dodge pickup truck southbound on Lockwood Drive. As he entered the intersection, his vehicle was struck by a red Nissan Sentra traveling westbound on Market Street.

The force of the collision caused the Dodge to roll multiple times before coming to rest on its hood. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the driver of the Dodge deceased. His identity is pending confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The driver of the Nissan, 26-year-old Lakeisha Woodfork, was transported to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. Initial investigations revealed that Lakeisha was under the influence at the time of the crash. She has been charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. Investigations into the crash are underway.
