Houston, TX (August 31, 2024) – An officer with the Houston Police Department is currently recovering from a hit-and-run collision that occurred on Thursday evening, August 29.
Just after 11:00 p.m., a Houston police officer was traveling southbound on the West Sam Houston Parkway feeder road. As she proceeded through the area near Richmond Avenue, a second vehicle ran a red light and crashed into her patrol vehicle. The car then fled the scene of the crash. The officer was injured in the crash and rushed to an area hospital for emergency care. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
