San Antonio, TX – Bicyclist Killed in Crash on Southon Rd at Loop 410

San Antonio, TX (August 13, 2024) – A 68-year-old woman has died as a result of a fatal accident that occurred early Monday morning, August 12. The San Antonio Police Department was called to the scene at around 2:30 a.m.

According to law enforcement reports, a woman was riding a bicycle with a man on Southon Road. As they traveled through the area near Loop 410, on the southeast side of the city, she was struck by a vehicle. A second vehicle may have possibly struck her. When the person that she was riding with looked back, he noticed that the woman was no longer following him. He turned around and went back in the direction and found the female bicyclist on the road with severe injuries. One of the drivers stopped at the scene to render aid. The female bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of her injuries. The San Antonio Police Department is investigating.
