San Antonio, TX (August 6, 2024) – A major motor vehicle accident reported on Sunday evening in San Antonio left a young child injured. At around 11:00 p.m. on August 4, emergency officials were called to the scene of the accident on Interstate 37 near Southeast Military Drive.
Reports show that an 18-year-old male was traveling on the interstate in a Mitsubishi. As the vehicle proceeded southbound while racing a second vehicle on the highway, the driver lost control, went off the roadway, and struck a grassy exterior median. A 12-year-old girl was ejected from the automobile. The girl landed on top of an SUV, which was parked in an apartment parking lot near the area. The girl was severely injured as a result of the crash. She was rushed to an area hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
