Aransas Co., TX (July 5, 2024) – Local news sources confirm that a 76-year-old woman from Lake Charles, Louisiana, lost her life as a result of a fatal truck accident that occurred in Aransas County on Wednesday afternoon, July 3.
At around 1:30 p.m., a 2004 Freightliner 18-wheeler was heading north on Texas State Highway 35. At the same time, a 2015 Honda pilot was traveling southbound on the same roadway. For reasons unknown, the two vehicles collided. The impact sent the 18-wheeler off the right side of the roadway, where it came to rest in the grass. The Honda came to rest on the southbound side of the road.
The driver of the Honda was fatally injured in the accident. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 76-year-old man in the vehicle was severely damaged. He was transported by Life Flight to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital for emergency medical treatment. He was admitted in critical condition. The driver of the 18-wheeler, who was identified as 53-year-old George Flores, was transported to Rockport Emergency Room for medical care. At this time, the incident is being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
