Galveston, TX – Pedestrian Killed in Crash on Broadway Avenue J

Galveston, TX (May 19, 2024) – A fatal motor vehicle accident reported on Friday morning, May 17, claimed one person’s life.

Official reports show that an off-duty police officer was driving a personal vehicle on Broadway Avenue J in the area near 58^th Street during the morning hours. For unknown reasons, he struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was severely injured in the crash. The victim was rendered CPR at the scene and transported to an area hospital. Authorities confirmed that the victim died after arriving. At this time, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
