Rockport, TX (March 30, 2024) – The Rockport Police Department and area firefighters were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that took place during the evening hours on Friday, March 29. The incident occurred at around 5:55 p.m.
Preliminary reports indicate that a black 2007 BMW was traveling on Texas State Highway 35 during the evening hours. As the vehicle attempted to enter a private driveway, it failed to yield the right-of-way to a second vehicle. As a result, the BMW collided with a red 1996 Jeep. Two people were hurt in the accident. EMS responded to the scene to treat a 69-year-old male and a 38-year-old female. The victims were transported to hospitals in the area for further treatment and evaluation. The Rockport Police Department is currently investigating the accident.
