Corpus Christi, TX (March 19, 2024) - A driver has been taken into custody after a serious motorcycle accident in the Corpus Christi area on Sunday, March 17. The accident occurred at the corner of Saratoga Boulevard and Everhart Road early that morning at around 1:10 a.m. When emergency responders arrived, they found two injured parties on the ground.
According to local reports, a 69-year-old male pedestrian and a 28-year-old motorcyclist were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of sustained injuries. It was later determined that a woman driving a black SUV was traveling north when she failed to maintain a lane. The SUV hit a nearby pedestrian and motorcyclist. The driver fled the scene on foot.
The driver, later identified as 29-year-old Nicole Campbell, was later apprehended by authorities. Campbell reportedly assaulted authorities as they attempted to detain her. She is currently facing several charges, including DWI and intoxicated assault. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
