Edinburg, TX (March 17, 2024) - A local man was killed following a two-vehicle accident in the Edinburg area on Saturday, March 16. The deadly accident took place late that night at around 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 1925 and Tower Road. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched after being notified of a serious collision at the scene.
Initial reports indicated that a white Dodge Ram pickup truck and a gray Chevrolet Trailblazer sport utility vehicle were involved in the crash. The pickup reportedly had three occupants as it was westbound on FM 1925 and attempted to turn left at the intersection. The Dodge entered the path of the Chevy, and the two vehicles collided. The driver of the Trailblazer, later identified as 34-year-old Sergio Alejandro Padilla-Luna, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. None of the occupants in the Dodge were hospitalized. At this time, it is believed that alcohol played a role in the deadly accident. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of Sergio Alejandro Padilla-Luna at this time.
