Corpus Christi, TX (March 4, 2024) - A driver has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run accident that took the life of another motorist in Corpus Christi on Saturday morning, March 2. The deadly accident was reported on South Padre Drive near Kostoryz Road at around 1:30 a.m. A car hit another vehicle from behind, causing the vehicle to leave the road and hit a concrete pillar at the Oh My Goodness Craft Store.
The 27-year-old woman driving the second vehicle was killed in the accident. Her 23-year-old male passenger was hurt and transported to a local hospital for treatment. The at-fault driver fled the scene, but an abandoned vehicle with significant front-end damage was later found nearby.
It was later revealed that the car belonged to 31-year-old Garner Burford. Burford is currently facing charges related to the deadly accident. No further information has been provided. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is underway.
