BMW has issued a Stop Delivery and Recall notice affecting more than 5,000 vehicles for a potentially serious brake issue. Affected are the model year 2018-2019 BMW X3 (G01) and X4 (G02) vehicles produced from April 15 through June 1, 2018. BMW said the recall involves the rear brakes which may have air in the brake calipers of the rear axle, affecting braking distance. BMW will notify owners, and dealers will bleed the rear brake circuit, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on August 21, 2018. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417. To see if your BMW is affected, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) site and enter the vehicle's VIN.
